What Sets Our Advocacy Apart
Kids First
Advance Oklahoma’s Kids (AOK) anchors every position in one non-negotiable question: What produces better outcomes for kids? We focus on evidence, root causes, and long term outcomes for students, especially those historically underserved. This keeps conversations grounded and productive, even on issues that are politically charged.
Community Based
AOK is powered by parents, educators, faith leaders, rural advocates, and community members, not just policy professionals. Our advocacy is shaped by local voices and real classrooms, not abstract theory. Our grassroots structure builds trust and credibility with policymakers who know all of Oklahoma’s communities are genuinely represented.
Future Focused
Rather than chasing quick wins or symbolic fights, AOK works toward long term, bipartisan reforms that can withstand changes in political leadership. Our coalition invests time in listening tours, relationship building, and shared values, ensuring solutions are implementable and lasting, not just aspirational.

Complete our volunteer form with your contact details and interests, and our Education Justice Organizer will personally reach out to you with opportunities to take action, stay informed, and connect with others across the state. From community events and legislative engagement to public meetings and coalition activities, your participation helps strengthen our schools and elevate the voices of families and educators.

START A LOCAL “B.O.O.K.” CLUB IN YOUR COMMUNITY OR COUNTY
B.O.O.K. — Better Outcomes for Oklahoma’s Kids — is Advance Oklahoma’s Kids’ legislative policy initiative focused on strengthening public education by empowering local voices. A B.O.O.K. Club is a community-based chapter made up of people who care deeply about their local public schools and the students and educators who make them thrive. B.O.O.K. Clubs are designed to be flexible and community-driven. There is no one “right” way to organize — what matters is showing up for kids and advocating for strong, well-supported public schools. Clubs can take one of two forms:
1. Existing Groups Becoming a Chapter - Already gathering as a PTA, civic group, faith-based group, teacher group, parent network, or community organization? Your group can officially sign on as a B.O.O.K. Chapter and integrate advocacy tools, policy resources, and action opportunities into your regular meetings — without changing who you already are.
2. Starting a New B.O.O.K. Club - If you and a few like-minded neighbors, parents, educators, or community members are ready to organize around public education, you can launch a brand-new B.O.O.K. Club in your area. Whether it starts with two people at a kitchen table or a room full of community leaders, every club helps strengthen Oklahoma’s public schools.

The B.O.O.K. Tour is Advance Oklahoma’s Kids’ statewide effort to meet communities where they are and build momentum for stronger public schools across Oklahoma. We’re hitting the road to connect with parents, educators, students, faith leaders, civic groups, and public education supporters who are eager to learn more about B.O.O.K. (Better Outcomes for Oklahoma’s Kids) and how they can play an active role in shaping the future of public education in their communities. Through town halls, small-group conversations, community meetings, and local gatherings, the B.O.O.K. Tour equips participants with tools, policy context, and advocacy pathways so they can proactively engage in education conversations and help shape policies that impact Oklahoma’s students, teachers, and schools. By traveling the state and listening first, the B.O.O.K. Tour strengthens community leadership, builds local capacity, and ensures that the voices closest to our schools are central to Oklahoma’s public education future.
